SURYA TO SHOWCASE DIVERSITY OF NEW DESIGNS AND CONSTRUCTIONS AT HIGH POINT MARKET

CALHOUN, Ga. — April 1, 2016 — Celebrating 40 years in business, Surya will unveil hundreds of new home accessories across all of its product categories at this spring’s High Point Market, including a significantly expanded lighting collection and a number of new mirror designs. The latest additions to the Surya line will be on display in the company’s flagship showroom – Showplace 4100 – beginning on Friday, April 15.

To make it easier for retailers and designers to locate the right products for their needs, Surya’s extensive lighting collection – including new looks in crystal, antiqued metallics, shell mosaic inlay, copper, concrete, and colored glass – will be prominently featured in a special gallery within the showroom. New mirror offerings being shown include eye-catching mosaic designs along with contemporary geometric shapes, art deco styles, classic designs and distressed wood looks.

Among the rugs making their debut at market are a number of collections incorporating novel material combinations and constructions, including:

  • Antoinette – Hand tufted in India of wool and viscose, Antoinette’s contemporary patterns come to life through a high/low pile construction and viscose accents for rich texture and dimensionality.
  • Bukhara – Printed in India on a nylon base, Bukhara combines classic motifs and vibrant, high trend colors for a welcoming, free spirited look.
  • Cameroon – Hand woven in India of wool, Cameroon’s no pile construction and Scandinavian-inspired geometric patterns in muted hues lend a relaxed, clean-lined aesthetic.
  • Irina – Hand loomed of viscose for a lustrous sheen, Irina features partially erased classic looks printed on a looped pile construction, conveying a distinctively vintage feel.
  • Kaitlyn – Machine made in Turkey of polypropylene, Kaitlyn’s distressed traditional designs in a low pile are finished with an antique wash, replicating the look of higher end, hand-knotted rugs.

Pillow collections being launched include:

  • Naida – Crafted in India of luxe silk, the Naida pillows artfully translate the botanical trend seen on fashion runways via dappled, watercolor brushstrokes in hues of earth and sky.
  • Roxana – Printed in India on woven cotton, Roxana’s freshly interpreted classic designs feature a distressed look in a softly muted palette, creating a sense of effortless style.
  • Subira – Made in India of linen and cotton, the Subira pillows draw their inspiration from traditional African textiles, lending a global, well-traveled feel.
  • Tansy – Woven in India of crisp linen, Tansy’s subtly printed leaf pattern embellished with beaded accents closely mimics the look of a henna tattoo.

“Home decor has really become focused on creating a personalized look that reflects the consumer’s unique lifestyle and values, that allows them to create a sanctuary and authentic retreat from the complexities of life,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “As we continue to build out our product offering to add more depth and breadth, we’re making it even easier for our retailer and designer customers to create inspired spaces that their customers will want to come home to. We’re excited to share our latest introductions with market attendees.”

Surya will also present several new and recently launched licensed collections at market, including rugs and pillows from designer Emma Gardner and watercolor artist Shell Rummel, rugs from lifestyle brand Ted Baker and pillows from Clairebella.

In addition, four new trends will be spotlighted within curated lifestyle vignettes located throughout the showroom – providing design inspiration and merchandising ideas that can be easily duplicated in the retail setting.

Market attendees are invited to explore all of Surya’s latest offerings at Showplace 4100, which will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., beginning Friday, April 15. Attendees who schedule an appointment with their Surya sales specialist at www.surya.com/market-registration by Monday, April 11 will receive 10 percent off their market order (no minimum).
