SURYA TO INTRODUCE NEW DESIGNER COLLECTIONS AT HIGH POINT MARKET 3.28.14

CALHOUN, Ga. — March 28, 2014 — Surya will debut a diverse array of new licensee collections at its flagship showroom – Showplace 4100 – during the Spring 2014 High Point Market. Featuring fashion-forward designs and color stories that coordinate with the latest upholstery and paint colors, the new collections further broaden the brand’s offerings across multiple home accessory categories, including rugs, throws, wall decor, accent furniture, lighting and a bedding line that will also be introduced at High Point.

Licensee collections to be launched at market include:

  • Candice Olson – Building upon the success of Surya’s rug collections for the HGTV design personality are three new pillow collections. Constructed of luxe velvet and linen and finished with fine details and intricate beading, the designs exude quiet sophistication.
  • Jill Rosenwald – Hand drawn designs by the ceramic artist come to life in a new natural fiber rug collection. Shaggy hemp in earthen hues creates subtle color variations and a sense of movement.
  • Kate Spain – Eye-catching graphic motifs in a color palette ranging from soft pastels to boldly infused hues bring a sense of relaxed style in new pillow and pouf collections. Colorful hand-tufted and indoor/outdoor rugs round out the introductions.
  • Florence Broadhurst – The iconic Australian designer’s motifs are translated into versatile indoor/outdoor rugs that complement the indoor/outdoor pillows introduced last fall. Also debuting are a new bedding line and coordinating hand-tufted and hand-loomed rugs in rich, tonal colors.
  • Mike Farrell – Playful pillows, along with hand-tufted and indoor/outdoor rugs, incorporate everyday motifs such as bicycles, tire tracks and numbers to give modern spaces a touch of the unexpected.
  • Florence de Dampierre – Classic French elements are juxtaposed with vibrant colors to create a distinctly Parisian feel in a stylish new pillow collection, available in multiple designs and colorways.

“Our designer label collections cover a broad range of colors, textures and design aesthetics, making it easy for the customer to find attractive, high quality products to suit different lifestyles and budgets,” said Lynne Meredith, vice president of product development, Surya. “Our in-house design team works closely with each of our licensees to bring their creations to fruition in appropriate constructions and colorways that express their vision and personality. Each collection is carefully crafted to enhance, complement and coordinate with the Surya product range.”

The new licensee collections will be on display in the Surya showroom – Showplace 4100 – which will be open daily during market from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Surya will host a showroom celebration on Sunday, April 6 at 6 p.m. and will serve a complimentary hot breakfast and lunch each day, along with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails each evening.

SURYA SET TO DEBUT BEDDING LINE AT HIGH POINT MARKET 3.26.14

Expansion into new product category supports brand’s goal to become a single source provider of a full range of coordinating home accessories

CALHOUN, Ga. — March 26, 2014 — Rug and home accessories brand Surya will unveil a new bedding line at the company’s flagship showroom, Showplace 4100, during the Spring 2014 High Point Market. The new line has been designed to coordinate seamlessly with Surya’s rugs, pillows and other accessories, making it easy to create a complete look that flows seamlessly throughout the home environment.

Building upon the success of the Florence Broadhurst line of rugs and pillows, the initial bedding collection will feature several of the iconic designer’s well-loved patterns, including Japanese-inspired floral, Kabuki fan and crane motifs. Each design will be offered in two colorway combinations and will be available as a duvet set with two standard pillow shams in twin, double, queen and king sizes.

“We have been hearing from our customers for a while now that our products are being used within the bedroom setting,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “At the same time, it’s clear that consumers are no longer looking just to decorate one or two rooms within their homes, but instead want to connect multiple rooms to create a harmonious feeling throughout. Our movement into the bedding category will enable retailers and designers to go beyond the living room conversation and engage customers in discussions about their bedroom decor needs, helping to streamline the shopping process while also providing additional sales opportunities.”

Constructed of luxe 330-thread count cotton sateen, the line will also include matching Euro shams and 18-inch pillows, which can be purchased separately. Further completing the look, Surya is launching a complementary collection of Florence Broadhurst rugs. Available in multiple colorways, the rugs include hand tufted constructions crafted of wool with viscose accents, and plush, hand loomed designs featuring high/low pile for an all-over dimensional effect.

Market visitors are invited to explore Surya’s new bedding line — as well as the brand’s introductions across multiple categories — at Showplace 4100, which will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

SURYA PLEDGES SUPPORT TO HELP VETERANS RESOLVE CHRONIC PAIN AND RETURN TO DAILY LIVES 3.13.14

CALHOUN, Ga. — March 13, 2014 — Surya has announced its support of the Veteran Pain Program, an initiative of Minnesota-based BFW Charities that provides medical grants to military veterans to help them access the treatment necessary to relieve chronic pain and move on to lead productive lives. Through a generous financial contribution to the program’s “Helping 100 Veterans in 100 Days” initiative, Surya will enable three veterans to receive therapeutic treatment for three months.

“Our goal is to help veterans return to their daily routines as quickly and healthy as possible, using the latest medical technologies and best practices,” said Doug Huseby, founder of BFW Charities and owner of Becker Furniture World. “In many cases, we’ve seen veterans who had resigned themselves to a life of discomfort emerge from treatment with significantly reduced pain and renewed hope for the future. We are grateful to Surya for its commitment to help those who have dutifully served our nation live the best lives possible.”

Veterans who meet the program’s requirements are awarded a grant that can be used for treatment at The Ultimate Wellness Center locations in Becker or Minnetonka, Minn. A mobile unit has recently been added, giving veterans without transportation the opportunity to take advantage of the program. To date, the Veteran Pain Program has provided treatment to more than 250 Minnesota veterans with service-related disabilities, and Huseby hopes to expand the initiative nationwide.

“Surya has a longstanding history of contributing to the social and economic welfare of the communities that we serve,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “We have the utmost respect for our nation’s veterans and welcome the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for our country and who might not otherwise have access to treatment for their pain.”
